Stana Bunea ![]()
| Born in Romania, Stana Bunea is " …a harpist who represents world culture " and a distinguished music therapist. She holds a Master's degree in interpretation and pedagogy from the University of Music in Bucharest, as well as a Bachelor degree in music therapy from the University of Quebec in Montreal. Stana Bunea has been awarded numerous prizes and she has been acknowledged as teacher and soloist in a number of orchestras throughout Europe and Canada. Her solo career, as a member of World Harp Congress, has taken her to various international festivals in Romania, Poland, Israel, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Sweden, France, Turkey, Denmark, United States, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Canada. Stana Bunea has been invited to represent Canada in Prague, in Geneva and in Dublin. Her extensive repertoire spans many periods and a number of contemporary composers have dedicated their compositions to her that touch both her personality and sensitivity. Stana Bunea has recorded for national radio and television in Romania, Denmark and Canada. In Montreal, she has been featured on CJNT television. This record features for the first time Romanian Carols performed on the harp. Juxtaposition of the folk style with the classic emphasizes the inspiration of anonymous artists, as well as that of masters, throughout centuries. This selection testifies to the coherence of inspiration, traces continuity, structuring the unity of this record.
